Reflective Practice
I am taking PID 3260, the last official course in my quest to complete my Provincial Instructor's Diploma. This course is about Reflective Practice, which is a structured way to continually improve one's practice. It is more than thinking critically about how a lesson went, or how students responded to the lesson. It is a deep, multi-layered, multi-faceted examination of my effectiveness, according to me, my students, my peers, and the literature. My first assignment was to reflect on a quote from the course textbook. I have decided to start a practice of professional reflection, looking at myself as a teacher and leader. I have added a Reflective Practice page to this site, so that I can post links the resources that I discover as I research and practice this topic.
